T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds

Nov 29-30, 2008
Berlin, Germany
Invitational Men's Street and Vert
Total of $20,000 USD
While you all were enjoying Thanksgiving with your families the WCS crew and a fun bunch of invited riders were feasting on good times with good friends in a very cold Berlin, Germany for the 2nd annual 2008 T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds Arena event. Street and Vert Skaters battled it out all weekend in a unique and exciting head to head format. On Saturday after the event we were invited into town to have a bowl session at Juergen Horvarths amazing indoor park. As the bowl session got very heated, (Juergen was ripping hard with smooth style!) free beers were handed out in true German fashion at the pub/club next to the park.
On Sunday back at the packed arena on the street course it was Adam Dyet who did a kickflip melon grab backside 360 ramp to ramp transfer to win the XBox 360 best trick event. For the head to head match ups the Brazilians (who were not there last year) were dominating. Towards the end of the comp Carlos DeAndrade beat out last years champ Alex Mizurov while Rodolfo Ramos beat last years 2nd place finisher the young Axel Cruysberghs. In the end Rodolfo Ramos took out Carlos in the final heat with a technical run oozing with speed and style.
On the Vert Canadian PLG barely edged out Danny Mayer to go on to win against Adam Taylor in the final heat. After the event free beers were handed out once again in true German fashion while the fans got to rage it up to The Offspring live in concert! Look below for more details of all of the match ups throughout the weekend.
Happy Holidays, D.D.
